Europe’s air taxi operators, OEMs, suppliers and airports will gather in Barcelona, Spain this month for the second annual European Very Light Jets (VLJ) Conference. During 25th-26th September at the city’s Le Meridian Hotel, delegates will discuss market opportunities, cost control, how to choose the right aircraft, fly safely and debate how VLJ operators can work in harmony alongside scheduled carriers and maximize the infrastructure they need.
The two-day conference will explore how the VLJ industry is transforming the charter market, amid a positive background of notorious security checks at airport hubs, delays, lack of flexibility with scheduled flights, a change in European social perspectives, and this sector’s ability to be able to use shorter runways, regional airports and deliver reduced operating costs.
The conference will also tackle industry challenges which include the lack of suitable airfields and aviation infrastructure, over regulation, the industry requirement for two pilots, an active and powerful anti-aviation lobby, carbon trading, future oil prices, pilot training and crowded air corridors - all concerns which threaten to hamper VLJ progress in Europe.
The European VLJ Conference is being organized by UK-based MIU Events. With thanks to sponsors - Embraer Executive Jets, Air Support, Standard Aero, Stratos and GAMA. TaxiJet will host a networking drinks reception at the end of Day 1. Source
